“Bitcoin”: Anarchy And Islam Join Forces To Form The New World Order Of Terror

Every criminal enterprise has at least one thing in common; they need money and usually a lot of it. Hiding those funds or disguising them is not only tricky but usually ends up leaving a paper trail. Countless times this has led to the downfall of whatever group is partaking in illegal activity. But what if a currency could be created out of thin air, increase in value as the currency is created, and be untraceable? It would be impossible, right? Not at all. This new virtual currency is increasing in demand, increasing in value, and is being used by everyone from hackers to possibly terrorist groups.

Bitcoin is a virtual P2P (person to person) currency that is attached to no country or any large federal bank. It is created by users and can be used to purchase an array of services and hard goods. This new currency has gained popularity outside of the regular rings of hackers (white hat and black hat) and is starting to be used with factions of radical Islamist groups such as the Taliban.

Recently the hacker group LulzSec (short for Lulz Security) had gained mainstream notoriety for its high profile attacks. Attacking the forward-facing sites of Senate.gov, the CIA, the FBI, Infragaurd, and the Sony Playstation network. Funding, when needed, did not need to involve cash at all. Cash it traceable; and the system in which Bitcoins are exchanged are untraceable. The users themselves can conduct transactions in total anonymity. Towards the end of the LulzSec operations one of the groups leaders Topiary said “Totally gonna give some BitCoins to the Taliban to fund their websites.” This was a response to patriot anti-jihadist hacker known as The Jester (th3j35t3r) who is known for taking down radical Islamic websites.

The threats from blackhat hacker groups is not limited to donations to the Taliban. The group AntiSec (Anti-Security), a faction of LulzSec and Anonymous, recently sent a bomb threat to the TSA via twitter. A screen capture was obtained of the tweet sent to the TSABlogTeam before it could be deleted. It read “Expect a bomb in the Florida airport some time today. ” with the hash tags “karma”, “antisec”, and “irony”. Keeping the “antisec” hashtag would undoubtedly increase the number of views online. During the operations of LulzSec, and the ongoing Anti-Sec ops, donations no longer need to come in hard currency. The virtual currency works just fine for them and the added bonus is that it is gaining value.

While all of these groups are parts of the same group, Anonymous, what is blatantly clear is that they are not the patrons of freedom and democracy that they at times claim to be. These groups have now turned into bullies and shakedown artists. Unveillance CEO Karim Hijazi was exploited and blackmailed by the group. In their list of demands was all sorts of methods of payments, one being Bitcoin. Hijazi explained in a public statement that if he had met their demands it would’ve helped them expand their operations. They are no longer just a bunch of tech-savvy pranksters. The group can now be classified as a criminal enterprise and with the bomb threats; a terrorist organization and enemy combatants to The United States.

To date Bitcoin is the only currency in history that has gained value as more are created. This partly due to the the increased demand recently and the fact that there is a finite amount of Bitcoins in circulation. The current price per Bitcoin is $13.39. Once obtained a user can by and sell this currency online. While this method is partly traceable the exchanging of Bitcoins between users can remain 100% anonymous. In other words, any user can hire or donate to an unlimited amount of dangerous organizations. To top it all off anyone in the world with a computer can generate this currency with little or no actually work done on the users part.

The process is nothing more than agreement between the end user and operating terms of the software. The program uses a percentage of your CPU to help solve complex computer algorithms in “blocks”. Once a block is solved a fraction of a Bitcoin is created and deposited into your account/wallet. So what is the catch? Time. It takes a very long time to create a single Bitcoin. This keeps the supply low which is directly related to its selling price against any currency. While the idea of being able to create a currency outside of state control sounds appealing at first, the grim reality is that non-state actors with dangerous agendas will seize upon the opportunity to cause as much damage as possible with it.
