Super Congress Completed With Extreme Leftist Congressmen

USA Today:

The bipartisan committee charged with finding $1.5 trillion that can be cut from future budget deficits is now complete, and the signs for a compromise sought by a majority of Americans aren’t great.

House Democratic leader Nancy Pelosi completed the 12-member panel by choosing three liberal lawmakers.

Two of them — Rep. James Clyburn of South Carolina, a member of her leadership team, and Rep. Chris Van Hollen of Maryland, the top Democrat on the Budget Committee — also worked with Vice President Biden on the deficit issue earlier this year.

Her final appointment went to Rep. Xavier Becerra, who served on last year’s bipartisan fiscal commission. When the panel voted 11-7 for a 10-year, $3.9 trillion deficit-reduction package that included cuts in benefit programs and higher taxes, Becerra voted “no.”

He wasn’t alone. Three other members of the fledgling congressional committee also served on the commission, and they all voted against its recommendations: Sen. Max Baucus, D-Mont., and Republican Reps. Jeb Hensarling of Texas and Dave Camp of Michigan.

All six Republicans on the committee, meanwhile, have signed the Americans for Tax Reform pledge against tax increases.

David Walker, former U.S. comptroller general who now heads the Comeback America Initiative, said those factors “could prove as roadblocks to gaining agreement on a substantive plan that will avoid across-the-board cuts.”

The committee will be co-chaired by Hensarling and Democratic Sen. Patty Murray of Washington. There are 12 members — six Democrats and six Republicans — ranging from top legislative leaders to committee chairmen to lawmakers first elected last November.

The committee has until Nov. 23 to come up with a package. Under rules laid out in last week’s deal raising the nation’s debt limit, Congress must vote up or down on the package without amendments by Dec. 23.

If the process falls apart — a deadlocked committee, thumbs down in Congress or a veto from President Obama — last week’s law calls for $1.2 trillion in automatic budget cuts, equally divided between defense and domestic programs and including up to a 2% cut in Medicare, over the coming decade.

The entire premise of this “committee” is as ate-up as a soup-sandwich.

The over-fed, over-paid, under-worked, undeserving oxygen-thieves in Congress need to get off their over-padded asses and DO THEIR DAMNED JOBS!

This “super committee” bullshit is just another way for them to choke their collective chickens while avoiding having to make any REAL decisions, popping smoke to cover more treachery at the expense of America.

The list of leftists in that gang of thieves reads like the appointment calendar for a shrink who specializes in treating LSD-addicted, UFO-probed chimps suffering from delusions of relevance.
