Developing: Hundreds of Thousands of Tons of Yellow Cake Stashed in Warehouse in Libya

September 22nd, 2011 (13) Posted By Toro520.

National Journal:

CNN’s Ben Wedeman discovered what he said on Thursday appears to be processed uranium sitting in a Libyan warehouse filled with thousands of barrels apparently containing radioactive material.

He came across the warehouse while pursuing a story at a military base outside the town of Sabha. Wedeman tweeted photos of the warehouse, including some of bags that he said appear to contain yellowcake, or processed uranium. Yellowcake is a rudimentary uranium oxide compound that can be refined for use in nuclear weaponry.

The International Atomic Energy Agency was aware that the site contained nuclear materials, Wedeman reported. He also found a handwritten note that said “350,000 tons declared.”

Wedeman also said he spoke with a field commander who said that those in the town are eager for the international community to help them remove the material.

Anti-Qaddafi forces took over the site in Sabha just yesterday. Wedeman’s team found a garbage bag and rubber gloves in the warehouse that appeared to have been used recently and may be evidence of activity on the site.

Interestingly, a CNN reporter made the discovery…yet CNN doesn’t seem to consider it worth reporting…ho hum

Sickening, but I am sure it will be all Bush’s fault in the end.

Hell no, this should vindicate GWB – at last, huge proof that he (and most of the security apparatus of the west) was indeed right, that WMD existed in Iraq, only to disappear into the night….

I always wondered where it went cuz everyone was denying Syria and there had to be some sort of nasty shit on board that had to disappear.

Wait did you feel that, an earthquake? No, that was Al-Qaeda having a collective orgasm as they’re hauling ass to some warehouse Libya.

    Dirty bomb anyone?

Nope, no way Bush could be right.  God forbid.

You know what, I’ve been defending the whole WMD’s shpeel since the beginning… but on the lines of Mustard gas…. now we can actually defend Bush by saying that Iraq did indeed have WMD’s! orrrrrrr, at least the shit used to make nukes!!!  YAYYYY i mean, horrible that they have found tha shit with that raging maniac, buuuut, goo that they did indeed find the shit

Uhhhhhhh? Convoy of trucks from Iraq to Libya? Some impressive fording? Or thru Israel? Saudi Arabia? Jordan?

I thought they went to Syria. From there to Libya some way?

I am not surprised about anything CNN will not report, or will report!! They want to make the U.S., and in particular Bush, for whom they  think this would justify his attack on Iraq!!!  I hope we can get hold of this uranium, but I’m not certain if I want it under Obama’s administration!

Sorry, I left out “look bad,” above!

Dude, i just read that article right now… litterally then switched here to paste a link and here it is! But, what makes it legit? Not trying to say conspiracy nothin like that, But I do kno that Gadaffi was trying to change his image within the international community by inviting the IAEA in and letting them do their thing. He was infact trying to become an active member in the Partnership for peace program. I just want to get a link to the actual IAEA website or some other guaranteed trust worthy agency then the Agence France-Presse, granted might be the oldest, but doesnt mean their honest
