NC Governor Recommends Suspending Right To Vote To Focus On Jobs

As a way to solve the national debt crisis, North Carolina Democratic Gov. Beverly Perdue recommends suspending Congressional elections for the next couple of years.

“I think we ought to suspend, perhaps, elections for Congress for two years and just tell them we won’t hold it against them, whatever decisions they make, to just let them help this country recover,” Perdue said at a rotary club event in Cary, North Carolina, according to the Raleigh News and Observer. “I really hope that someone can agree with me on that.”

Perdue said she thinks that temporarily halting elections would allow members of Congress to focus on the economy. “You have to have more ability from Congress, I think, to work together and to get over the partisan bickering and focus on fixing things,” Perdue said.

North Carolina Republicans immediately scoffed at Perdue’s proposal, pointing out to her that elections hold politicians accountable for their actions. “Now is a time when politicians need to be held accountable more than ever,” North Carolina GOP spokesman Rob Lockwood said in an email to The Daily Caller. “To suspend an election would be removing the surest mechanism that citizens have to hold politicians accountable: The right to vote.”

“Hold them accountable at the voting booth” is what’s specified in the Constitution, and unless or until they violate it – by, let’s say, “suspending an election” – my black rifle stays where it is.

If they come to take my rifle, it’s “game on”, but I’ve seen what explosives and bullets do.
For nearly a quarter century – “kill people and break things, and train others how to do it” was my job-description.

Thanks for replying. I suspect that the kenyan might try something like the Lincoln gambit which started the Civil War. If we all keep our cool, as you suggest, we are then faced with more of what we have now- a widely dispersed, constant, and insidious usurpation of liberties. Boil the frog, in other words.

Tough choice: do something soon and face immediate and damaging consequences, or wait, and see if our legal/political process will bring relief. Kenyan is subverting our legal process against us even now. My main hope is that the states will stand firm against the feds so we as individuals needn’t go it alone.

If the polls show a second term denied to The Premier, Plan B goes into effect: suspension of the Constitution, civil disorder, economic collapse, and violence against Americans.
