ABC Reporter’s Life Threatened At #OccupyOakland: “We Shoot White Bitches Like You Around Here” – With Video

Early yesterday morning, we received a tip from a reader in the San Francisco East Bay area who informed us that a local reporter’s life had been threatened by an activist at the Occupy Oakland demonstration.

Our source, who is fearful of reprisal and has requested anonymity, says that KGO-TV’s Amy Hollyfield was accosted by a man who threatened her and used a racial slur:

“We shoot white bitches like you around here.”

Other local morning news reports from three of the major Bay Area stations suggested that the Occupy Oakland tent city had descended into rat-infested squalor with complaints of vandalism, public urination, sexual harassment, and sex in public.

The night before, local CBS affiliate KNTV had reported that one Occupy Oakland activist had set his dog on a reporter in a vicious attack that would have maimed his arm had the reporter not been wearing a suit jacket.

Nice disinformation campaign guys. My question to you is: Why are you so hellbent on trying to destroy the occupy movement? Can’t you tea-party types do at least high school level analysis and understand that we share more in common than not?

Clarifying points:
- The racial slur is an unsubstantiated rumor. The Occupy Oakland movement is diverse and accepting as anyone who has been to the plaza knows.
- Rats are a common sight in downtown Oakland, it is not directly correlated to Occupy Oakland. As much as they are drawn by the food we are using to feed the poor and homeless of Oakland, they are repelled by the human presence. There is no rat infestation at the occupy encampment.
- Vandalism, public urination, and sexual harassment are problems that existed in Oakland before the occupation, and will exist after the occupation. Just like the rats, there is absolutely no direct correlation. A little bit of thinking is required to understand this, but I hope you can do it.
- The reporter who was attacked got bitten by a dog after he was walking around camp thrusting his camera into tents uninvited. In one such tent he found a dog. Kind of like the tea-partiers who maintain their right to shoot trespassers, people will defend their personal property at Occupy Oakland.

I can do alot higher level “analysis”, than you think, and you are correct to a certain degree, that the TEA party does have some common goals, but they are going to use legal means to get the job done rather than your idea of passive-aggressive behavior.

Here’s a tip, since you seem to have a modicum of intellegence, Why don’t you police your ranks and drive the scum and anarchists from your encampments? You might gain a little bit more integrity and people just might take you a bit more seriously!

We are working on policing our ranks. Its difficult when you open the space to the public in a city plagued with problems of mental health and drug abuse. However, that inclusiveness is important to what this movement is about: re-empowering Americans to be in control of our country rather than corporations domestic and foreign, and the stooges they put in our government. Its a difficult thing to do, and we welcome any respectful suggestions. Ad hominem attacks on people to the left of you politically will just be ignored.

You say you don’t want ad hominem attacks (which name-calling isn’t ad hominem, but who’s keeping track), you also say you are working on policing your ranks, and yet I don’t see you calling down one of your members above. You lose all credibility. Not only do you improperly identify ad hominem (sorry, but if you’re going to be an ambassador get yourself squared away), but you promptly drop the ball. Truth, I don’t think you’re trying to police your ranks. The other stories coming out about sexual assault, “leaderships” telling people to avoid talking to the police make me think that your “movement” is the same, or worse, as what you want to be against. The stories surrounding your group are absolutely disgusting, and comment board platitudes don’t get it done. Will counseling be offered to the women who were victimized, many of whom are under 18? Or, if the women are lying, will the man arrested be set free and the false accusers punished? Not that it matters. You’re not interested in respectful suggestions. The “Occupy” movement isn’t about fixing corruption, the TEA Party was. If you were against the bail-outs and insane government spending, you would have joined the TEA Party. Us Occupy folks will make amajor effort to weed out the bad elements if you extremist right wingers will stop worshiping a thrice divorced, illegal drug buying, Oxycontin addicted, draft dodging, racist fat man like Rush Limbaugh. I find it amusing that the outrage being hurled at the Occupy movement on this thread would be perfectly descriptive of Rush.
