McCain Okay With Cutting Military Benefits

According to the Associated Press, Sen. John McCain (R-AZ) sent a letter to the bipartisan budget supercommittee in which he indicated he is open to cost-saving steps in military benefits.

The AP reports that McCain supports President Obama’s proposal to start charging older military retirees a $200 annual enrollment fee for TRICARE for Life. In addition, McCain urged the supercommittee to consider restricting working-age military retirees and their dependents from enrolling in TRICARE Prime. McCain pointed out that the Congressional Budget Office has estimated that such a move would save $111 billion over 10 years.

    heck yeah, I’m retired military and a senator now. I don’t care about no stinken benefits. Unless you give them to illegals or other minorities who have not contributed . Lets all join in screw the old and the veterans while we at it.

    McCain is a true hero.  I voted for him in 2008 even though he was a very weak presidential candidate.  At this point listening to him speak, he barely makes a coherent sentence.  Why he would come out with any sort of statement cutting anything from the troops, active or retired, is beyond me.

    Him and Opie should just shut up.

    Yeah well, I bet that nice retirement you have from the Navy (you know after Daddy helped you get into the Academy and flight school), the income from the Senate, the pension you will get from that seat as well as you 0$ co-pay for premium health care you have for life b/c of your Senate seat, might make you feel like this is no big deal.  I say if you want to do these things  go ahead just consider 1) put yourself under the same provisions and 2)  deal with the fact a bunch of pissed off Vets will, at the very least, never endorse you for anything, THE VERY LEAST.   TIme to STFU, and you FUCK YOUR SERVICE.   Vets don’t leave Vets behind, and that’s what you are doing to us, I will never respect you as a man, an officer, vet, or politician, basically everything that you are to the core is despicable and I will never consider you a brother in arms, I can’t believe I voted for you.

      Oorah! Could not agree more! Great, one of the reasons why I joined is for retirement! If I make that long Congress,DOD, should hold up their end of the bargin! McCain, you are a c——–r. Your word is not reliable. Many retired Vets depend on TRICARE for their Benefits. Because of President Jackass great economy, Working Military Members who have retired, cannot find a job, who are on a strict budget, $200.00, puts more burden on our retirees. Who’s side are you on McCain? Your word means shit. If you follow through with this..this is worse than leaving a Soldier wounded on the Battlefield.
