TIME Magazine Poll: “Occupy” Movement Twice As Popular As Tea Party

October 13th, 2011 (15) Posted By Pat Dollard.

New York Daily News:

In the protest movement popularity contest, Occupy Wall Street is whupping the Tea Party.

The demonstrations against big banks has a 54% favorability rating compared to the conservative group’s 27%, according to a new Time magazine poll.

A sizable number – 23% – said they didn’t know enough about the Wall St. protesters to make a decision.

In contrast, 23% said they had a negative opinion of Occupy Wall Street compared to 65% who said the Tea Party’s influence has been negative or negligible.

The new numbers come as Mayor Michael Bloomberg ordered demonstrations – who have been stationed at Zuccotti Park for the past three weeks – to temporarily vacate on Friday so the area can be cleaned.

Since the protests against big banks began in cities around the country weeks ago, many pundits and commentators have drawn comparisons between the two movements.

They argue both are grassroots initiatives fueled by anti-establishment anger – the difference being that Tea Partiers focus their antipathy on the government, and the Occupiers on big banks.

The Tea Party Patriots, the nation’s largest Tea Party organization, blasted the comparison earlier this week.

Tea Partiers are “not lawbreakers, they don’t hate the police, they don’t even litter. A quick glance at the TV reveals the sharp contrast posed by the Wall St. occupiers,” the group said in a statement.

Bogus, crap public opinion poll with about 54% college studies in liberal arts programs.  No one could even stand to be near these punks let alone have a positive attitude about them.  This poll is BS just like Time Magazine.

They have very few people showing up overall.  The first TEA Parties smoked their asses in numbers.  Notice how almost all of the news pictures and video are up close and crammed into the small crowd, trying to make it look larger.  This is the same pathetic techniques used to make the minuscule “Anti War” protests appear to have large crowds.  The only one I’ve seen that I would believe has 1K plus people is in NYC.  All the others appear to be only dozens or 1-200 at best.

    The Occupiers: Pathetic Becomes Perilous

Choose your variation: There’s nothing surer: The rich get richer and the poor get—poorer/children/laid off. Whatever you pick, the line may be considered one of the slogans of the Occupy Wall Street demonstrators.

When those protests against everything began a month ago, most outside observers viewed them with a mixture of bemusement and bewilderment. They have rapidly devolved into a source of disenchantment, disgust, and now fear.

At first, what little focus they had seem centered on the people President Barack Hussein Obama called the Wall Street “fat cats.” They’ve widened their scope beyond greed.

A LaLa Land demonstrator revealed that new vista when he announced at an Occupy Los Angeles rally that violence and bloodshed will become necessary components of the Left Coast occupation.

Rejecting Gandhian non-violence, the unidentified, heavily-accented speaker lectured his excited audience on his revolutionary model, the French Reign of Terror. He concluded, “So, ultimately, the bourgeoisie won’t go without violent means. Revolution! Yes, revolution that is led by the working class. Long live revolution! Long live socialism!”

See and hear his call for insurrection here: http://bit.ly/nH1wBA.

The failure of the Occupiers to recognize that Washington, not bankers, was the primary cause of the sub-prime mortgage crisis which precipitated our Great Recession and most of the Occupiers’ grievances could be dismissed as merely pathetic. This new wrinkle is disturbing. . .
