ACLU Demands Apple Update iPhone’s Siri So It Directs Women To Abortion Clinics

December 1st, 2011 (9) Posted By Pat Dollard.

Washington Post:

The American Civil Liberties Union has started a petition asking Apple to update Siri to direct users to places to access birth control or abortion clinics when asked.

A blog called “The Abortioners” was the first to report that while Siri can be consulted (jokingly) for places to dump a dead body, it seems to have problems directing users to locations where they can receive emergency birth control or have an abortion.

A report from The Raw Story points out that some users in the Washington, D.C., area are directed to abortion clinics in Landsdowne, Va., or in York, Penn when they ask Siri for the information. Reports from users in New York City say that Siri returns the answer, “Sorry, I couldn’t find any abortion clinics” when asked to locate those services in Manhattan.

The ACLU joins NARAL Pro-Choice America Foundation in asking Apple to address the black hole in the program’s search results. NARAL sent a letter to Apple Chief Executive Tim Cook asking him to provide more complete information in the program.

    Another Holocaust, a Worse Holocaust
I recently watched, for the second time, Steven Spielberg’s “Schindler’s List,” the movie Jerry Seinfeld largely missed because he was, umm, busy with his date in the balcony, at least on his television show.
Though not a Jew like Seinfeld, I was moved again by the unspeakable horrors depicted in “Schindler,” merciless murders by the Nazis of innocent people whose only crime was being Jewish, genocidal acts which were dwarfed by Mao Ze-Dong and Jozef Stalin but which were no less horrible.
The slaughter of six million Jews by Hitler, Himmler, and their accomplices should never be forgotten by anyone, no matter their religion.  It was a crime committed not only against Jews but against humanity and all humanity was diminished by both its commission and the refusal of civilized nations to acknowledge it until it was too late.
However, despite the enormity of the Jewish Holocaust, it was far from the worst example of genocide.  With over 50,000,000 victims to date and counting, abortion has to be  considered the worst, even if it is now legal and socially acceptable.
Pro-life activist and founder of Operation Rescue, Randall Terry, has pointed out distinctions between Hitler’s victims and victims of abortion.  A Democrat Party candidate for president in 2012, Terry rightly perceives anti-Semitism as a plague on the Earth and outlined the differences between the Jewish Holocaust and the abortion holocaust.
Citing ”the chasm of disparity between the motivation to hate any people group vs. the deliberate murder of our own flesh and blood,” Terry concludes ”that these two holocausts are not only different, but that the slaughter of unborn babies is a far worse crime against God and man.”
Unlike what is happening to millions of innocents today, Randall argues that the people Hitler slaughtered in his maniacal quest for racial purification had some defenses, however limited they were. . .(Read more at http://www.genelalor.com/blog1/?p=8090.)

Mao and Stalin killed way more than Hitler

It is my understanding that nearly all of the Jewish holocaust victims could live viably on their own if allowed to do so. Not so true of the fetuses. I am all for keeping them alive, but only if a mother is free to remove them from their bodies and walk away from it. If that’s not true (and, of course, its not) then your holocaust analogy fall to pieces.

If your personal religious views say abortion is immoral then don’t have one. If that isn’t enough for you, you might wish to consider moving to some sharia ruled country where you can enjoy a government run by religion.

that would be like saying if my personal religious views say murder is immoral then dont murder someone, but if that wasnt enough for me I should consider moving to a sharia ruled country

      your argument falls to pieces.

Well said. As long as it is legal, the search should not direct you to misrepresented Crisis Pregnancy Centers. I would be offended by anyone’s attempts to tell me what is right for me and my family.
