OK, this is the problem: Glenn Beck isn’t asking the same ‘race’ question of the Democrats, which is, “why then *are* you — as Democrat/Progressive — voting for Obama? If Newt is offering just a different ‘flavor’ of what you seek, why then are you “unshakably” for Obama? Beck has placed the onus of racism squarely onto the shoulders of the Tea Party alone. This is more than just wrong, it is corrupt—especially during an era where racism accusations have never been more intense.
In the effort to appear as “non-racist”, pure, and fault-free as possible, Glenn is willing to usher suspicion onto the motives of the Tea Party. Curiously, this is the “watch the other hand” trick that Glenn used to warn conservatives to be on guard for from Progressives. I personally know several Tea Party members, and never once have I detected an iota of racism. Indeed, the premise of “fiscal responsibility equals racism” theme was just about buried for good … until Glenn Beck resurrected it.
As many of you are aware, up to now I have been a long-time Beck fan. This changes the calculus.

Having been an ardent watcher of Beck I quit when he went
all payper/Beck and It’s all about ME-TV.
If any citizen were really concerned about the future of this
nation they would do everything they could to bring back
the republic at as close to ZERO cost as possible, you know
like being a true patriot. His capitalist meme is wearing thin.
What does it profit a man to gain the world and yet loose
his soul,,,,,, quite a bit in Beck’s case, while he lives anyway.

It was a stupid comparison to bring in race, but the basic principle is sound. You cannot be pro “TEA Party” and cheer on Newt. He shares few principles. In fact, he basically has none. Better than 0bama? You bet, but that’s a piss-poor platform to stand on. You might as well push for either Clinton in place of 0bama. Beck pisses me off occasionally, but “Dead to me”? ROFL! Hardly.

Yeah, well Beck, like you, is so opposed to Newt that he just said on his radio show that if Newt got the GOP nomination and Ron Paul went thrid party he would vote for Ron Paul. Nice plan if you want 4 more years of Obamanation.

Once again a man who started out with honorable intent (Beck) has succumbed to overblown ego.
