Downed Drone Potentially A Fake

Faked? Downed in Afghanistan by Hezbollah agents? Whatever the case, the administration missed prime opportunities to take Iran to task…but who would expect anything less from the Obama administration?

(UPI) — A former Pentagon official says the unmanned U.S. spy plane Iran recently announced it captured appears to be a fake.

Iran said it managed to gain electronic control of the RQ-170 Sentinel drone and guide it down as it flew over its airspace.

The former official said the drone shown on display in Iran in video footage is not only the wrong color, but has welds along the wing joints that do not appear to conform to the stealth design intended to allow such drones to avoid radar detection, USA Today reported Thursday.

The official asked to remain anonymous because he is not authorized to release information on the matter.

Iran TV said Iranian experts were still recovering data from the drone.

An Iranian member of Parliament criticized President Obama for asking for the return of the drone after using it to spy on Iran.

“This is an astonishing remark by Obama, who has studied law,” Kazem Jalali told ISNA, Iran’s state media agency.

    I had a feeling there was something funny about it. I’ve never seen any US military aircraft painted that color, especially not a stealth aircraft, which are usually black. Looks too small too, I could be wrong about that.

    Hmph… I doubt this, though.  Why would we be trolling them, asking for it to be returned if they were trolling us first?  Wouldn’t someone at Shindand have sent an alert up through the chain of command stating, “we didn’t lose any drones…”?  

    I doubt our military communications are that bad with the commander in chief.  I know the communications are professional as always, but Barry’s listening skills?  I would expect the latter to be the failure, as usual.  Just ask McChrystal about his listening skills.

    During the Reagan Administration, Director CIA, Bill Casey ran a program where Soviet spies in Europe were identified and allowed to steal critical components to American weapons systems.
     
    Only one giant problem, the parts were specially engineered to appear genuine but had very subtle changes made, so that by all appearances the parts should have worked, but they never would, nor could they be successfully reverse-engineered no matter how much money, time and brain-power was put to the task.
     
    The Soviets spent untold millions, and possibly billions trying to get the stolen parts to work. (Insert laughter)
     
    Point is, (retired) Gen. David Pretraeus is now Director CIA and can rather easily go around Panetta’s leftovers at CIA and the Administration, to pull-off a scam like Bill Casey did in the 1980’s.
     
    Is that what this drone is all about?   Maybe some day we’ll find out.

    I commented earlier about the video where I questioned why they did not show the trailing edges of the wing or the exhaust area.  These would be critical areas especially the exhaust as one hey concern is reducing (eliminating) the IR signature of the drone. The captured drone also was set on some sort of pedestal rather than on its landing gear.  Why?  Wouldn’t it be much more believable if they simply had it parked in a hanger sitting on its landing gear without all the drapes etc?

    I’m not going with any particular theory … I’m just pointing out some rather interesting oddities. Is it a fake?  If so who created it and for what purpose?  Did we make it as a plant or did they make it as a propaganda exercise? Or is it real?

    I thought about this again last night. Maybe they are displaying a fake one just in case we pinpoint the location of this video and drop a 10K lb bomb on the location.

    The real one is probably hidden deep underground. The would never be so dumb as to openly display the real one. I wouldn’t.

    These Persians are crafty fuckers let me tell you. I have met a few and they are not nearly as dumb as you would expect.

    The Google CEO Schmidt said that Iran was unusually good at electronic and computer cyber warfare at they cannot figure out how. I am starting to think a small group of old school German Nationalists are operating in Iran and helping with all sorts of weapons engineering and computer/cyber efforts 

    Some of the old school Germans have not forgotton the bombing of civilian cities and the terrible treatment meted out on the German POW’s by Truman Churchill and Stalin. They want payback on the Jews also who they feel were instrumental in starting the war. 

    What better country to go to for payback than Iran(Persian for Aryan). Just a theory
