Breitbart.tv:

Dr. Paul has come under fire for some racial overtones in his political newsletters published during the 1980s and early 1990s Dr. Paul has consistently denied knowledge that he knew what existed in these letters and has said repeatedly that because he was so busy with his practice that he did not pay close attention to them. He has also disavowed all racial statements that have been discovered. In 1995, this is how Dr. Paul described his political newsletters:

“…I also put a political type of business investment newsletter. It sort covered all these areas. And it covered a lot of about what was going on in Washington and financial events and especially some of the monetary events, since I had been especially interested in monetary policy and had been on the banking committee and still very interested in that subject. This newsletter dealt with it.”

Dr. Paul then goes on to list very specific subjects that were covered in the newsletter.

The letters were not something that are of interest to anyone that is tired of having the government and judicial system rigged against the poor and minorities in this country, and Ron Paul is the only one addressing these issues. He has fought to keep the court system from abusing power in incarcerating the young black and Hispanic men disproportionally. Who else does that? He fights the government removing my right to privacy with the patriot act. He seems alone wanting to make sure that Americans have a trial before being sent to a prison if you are being ACCUSED of helping or being a terrorist. He is against the government killing American citizens without their accusations being brought before a court. He consistently fights against the federal government spending our taxes on their own pocket projects.

That headline is misleading. Ron Paul did not deny these newsletters were published under his name. But he didn’t read every single article written and so had no knowledge of the racist remarks until years later. How could he possibly read all these multiple newsletters being published while practicing medicine and running for congress? And he wrote books of his own as well, none of which contain any racism or even match the varied writing styles of the newsletter articles.
