Exactly… and it a personal property issue too. These people own these businesses and should have the rights to choose who to serve. I’m going to get blasted as every “ist” there is, but if someone doesn’t want to serve atheists, Christians, blacks, whites, muslims ect in their personal business… they shouldn’t have to. Let the market decide if they survive the fire storm that potentially can erupt. If this happened near me, I know a couple of florists that would get my business BECAUSE they stood up for their rights.

Is this different from discriminating against allowing certain people to enter your place of business? I once went into a bar that had a sign saying, “No Tank tops.” I was wearing one and asked the waitress if I could have dinner. She said it was okay because I didn’t have a lot of body hair. That seemed pretty arbitrary to me.

If you want to do that, change the law first; right now, if you refuse to serve someone because of their religious views, it’s a violation of the civil rights act of 1964, and if you can’t convince the courts that it’s unconstitutional, you’re out of luck.

How are they being discriminated against “because of their religion?” By definition an athiest has no religion!

Atheism is a religious belief. Since there’s really no way to use science to prove an article of faith, having it or rejecting it is based on the same thought process.
