Bobby Brown took the stage in Mississippi on Saturday, just hours after the death of his former wife Whitney Houston.

Brown and his band mates in New Edition, who opted to go ahead with their scheduled performance, paid tribute to the late singer throughout the concert.

“I would like to say, I love you Whitney,” Brown reportedly told attendees. “The hardest thing for me to do is to come on this stage.”

Brown said he decided to perform because fans had shown their loyalty to the group for more than 25 years. During an intermission, one of Houston’s early hits, “You Give Good Love,” played over the speakers. Fans stood up and began singing along.

    My heart goes out to Bobbie Christian and her mom including her father, people need not be so hard on Bobbie Brown saying he put Whitney on drugs, it’s his fault she’s dead; I’m sorry to learn of her death but people get real… No-one can get another person hooked on drugs, Whitney had choices,and was an adult she could have said NO.. Everyone should be respondable for their own actions. Whitney chose to keep using after Bobbie, So don’t be so hard on Bobbie…
