Gay Marine’s Homecoming Kiss Is Lighting Up The Web

Feb 28, 2012 21 Comments ›› Angelia

NPR:

Since the Gay Marines Facebook page posted it on Saturday, a photo of Sgt. Brandon Morgan and his partner Dalan Wells sharing a welcome home kiss in Hawaii has been getting quite a bit of attention:

— 15,000 or so “likes.”

— 2,700 or so shares.

— About 3,300 comments.

— A rapidly growing number of posts. Including one from Steve Rothaus at The Miami Herald’s Gay South Florida blog with this message from Morgan:

“I’m glad I can be an inspiration to someone. Thank you so very much for sharing my story.”

And a post at Joe.My.God. that has more from Morgan, including his thanks to “everyone who has responded in a positive way. My partner and I want to say thank you. … As for the haters, let em hate.”

Back in December, by the way, Morgan made one of those quick videos that the Department of Defense distributes so that military personnel can say hello to friends and families during the holidays.

Also in December, two women officers shared what the Navy said was the first-ever “first kiss” at a ship’s homecoming.

The “don’t ask, don’t tell” policy that had barred openly gay men and women from serving in the U.S. military ended last September.

Like it or not, they’re here and they’re queer (to coin a phrase). They want you to think they’re everywhere, that they’re at least 10% of the population. We can thank the Kinsey report for that false number. Most studies show that the gay population is from 1.7 % to 5 %. I think that it seems as if there’s so many is due to militant homosexuals, the vocal, out-of-the-closet ones.
When I was in the service, back in the 70′s, there were a couple of guys (and 1 WM) in my unit that we suspected. But they did their jobs, didn’t grabass anyone and didn’t cause any trouble. We were always joking and talking shit about queers, but no one ever came right out and confronted any of them.
I guess I’ve become more tolerant in my old age. Or maybe cynical. Because I really don’t care. There’s not much we can do to stop them from joining the military.
I don’t think the Corps, and I mean the leadership, is going to tolerate any militant queers. I would hope those would be weeded out at some point. There are ways…. But if these people are patriotic, can make it through boot camp, can get deployed and serve their country honorably, go ahead and do it. Just do your job, keep your dick in your pants and don’t fall in love with the L/Cpl. beside you.
And that goes for the straight ones too.

I gotta say, even in my tolerance, that above photo turns my stomach.

If you fight for this country you can love who you want.

That Marine did more for my country than I ever did.  If I meet him, I’ll shake his hand and say ” Thank You.”

Don’t worry bro, your Corps is still there. Just a stray. They eventually get devoured by wolves, or Bulldogs.

Shouldn’t he be on his ‘partner’s’ back as a true show of affection?

  • AL

    Openly freak

  • I’m Right You’re Wrong

I don’t care if they decide to play catch with each other, but why oh why do I need to see this stuff? In your own home, bang who you want, but in public, if two heterosexual people have sex they get arrested and charged. If gays do it, then they get high fives for being freedom fighters. I wouldn’t care if this were military or not, still not appropriate and offensive. I suppose I should post pics of me banging my wife though so I’ll be right back.

  • Thunder

Can you imagine how difficult it was in the past? Hooray for the USMC.

  • Thunder

I think we’ve seen plenty of heterosexual couples in a similar embrace. Would you just shake hands with your wife?

  • ColdSoldier

    Thanks Barry….

creapy faggots! nice to see our military openly condones “insanity”.the majority of americans agree that this is disgusting behavior yet we let this small minority of freaks of their leashes. its time we the majority make ourselves heard loud and fuking clear!!
we will not tolerate your openly sick, perverted display of bump and grind to tarnish the purity and innocence of our children!
