Ed Masley in The Arizona Republic:

Megadeth frontman Dave Mustaine would like to clarify his stance on Rick Santorum in response to stories saying the metal guitarist who gave us “Killing is My Business…And Business is Good” has endorsed Santorum’s run for president.

“Contrary to how some people have interpreted my words, I have not endorsed any presidential candidate,” he says. “What I did say was that I hope to see a Republican in the White House. I’ve seen good qualities in all the candidates but by no means have made my choice yet. I respect the fact that Santorum took time off from his campaign to be with his sick daughter, but I never used the word ‘endorse.’”

The words he feels were misinterpreted were spoken in an interview with MusicRadar.com.

When I first saw this title I thought it was a death notice…and I was all…”Oh shit, not Dave”. Then I kept reading, and I was all, “Fuck yeah, Dave”!

What Mustaine said makes more sense than about any other two or three dozen of the usual celebrities that fart politics out their mouths – combined.
