hah, really? just two days ago some unknown militants have crossed over from russian controlled occupied territory of Georgia and attacked our police station with RPGs and MGs. guess what. the US Ambassador called for restraint. on both sides!!!! now we aren’t gonna attack russian military head on. and russians dont give a fuck about US/NATO/UN calls for refraining from further violence, so this shit will continue. this is the same shit that happened in in 2008, and after prolonged attacks from russian-backed paramilitaries we were forced into open conflict with russia itself.
now lets take back a bit, we had a contingent of about 2,000 in Iraq prior to 2008, and now we’re scheduled to raise our presence in A’stan up to 1,500 form about 1,000. sure, our boys are getting accustomed to getting shot and blown up (loosing about 50 and 100+ wounded in meantime), but sometimes i have a feeling that our partners (US/NATO) arent doing much to preserve our sovereignty against a large power (Russia) keen on retaking what they think is “rightfully theirs”. now US doesnt own us, nor are we in NATO in order to check the russian attack sighting the 5th clause of NATO agreement. what we need is for US to say to russians to fuck off. and maybe im speaking on the gorunds of self interest, the vocal action alone on part of USnot saying NO to russians on invading us the third time in last century will be the ultimate demise of US foreign policy. and this applies to Israel as well, which in itself was forced to play the russian game after 2008 in fear of being surrounded by countires that possess more or less modern russian equipment strating form portable MANPADS and ending with supersonic anti-ship ground based missiles that can even sink aircraft carriers.
im just appaled from the game of US policy makers beginign from G.W.Bush, cause his diplomatic actions could have prevented the August War of 2008, and the new WH Admin seems to play along the russian game of appeasement that has reached the point of no return. now with Putin back in power, one of the most effective leaders of our lifetime, its up to US to show that they can match and outplay the geopolitical game the russians began.  Or at least state your purpose with regards to our region (includin Israel) so we can make a rational decision on how to behave in situations as such, and wether or not we had a “paper tiger” backing us all along and basically wasting our time in meaningless bullshit.p.s. in May there is going to be a NATO summit in Chicago where our fate will be dicided upon. if we are goning to get another “not democratic enough” statement we will fall under russian influence. along with the whole middle east/central asia. and to be honest, we have sacrificed enough already for this not to happen, so another “not now” statement will be viewed as betrayal on part of the West, and perpetuate the politics on the region to the way things have been for past 2+ centuries. where there was no US in the region. this is my outlook on international affairs for the near future. i really dont want this to cristalyze and take form. cause it will mean more unnecessary bloodshead. gloomy? yeah.
