Secret Service Investigating Ted Nugent Over Obama Remarks

Excerpted from Think Progress: Ted Nugent’s remarks about President Obama at the annual National Rifle Association convention in St. Louis have earned him a follow-up conversation with the Secret Service. On Sunday, the singer remarked that “if Barack Obama becomes the president in November again, I will be either be dead or in jail by this time next year.” The Secret Service, which investigates all threats against the President, confirmed to New York Magazine’s Daily Intel blog that they have in fact flagged Nugent’s comment. “We are aware of it, and we’ll conduct an appropriate follow up,” the agent told the magazine. Nugent endorsed Mitt Romney — albeit reluctantly — via Twitter last month, and at least one Romney, middle son Tagg, was excited about the news.

    Perhaps he was talking about the belief that baring arms will be illegal and he will refuse to give up his weapons.

    I think what he meant is, if things continue this way, and Congress does nothing, dissidents will be persecuted, and prosecuted. It’s quite clear, really.

    Well, if the Secret Service actually interviews Ted, those agents should lose their POTUS security level cos when Ted’s done giving them an earful, I might fear for Obama’s safety if those agents were in close proximity to POTUS.

    “investigates all threats”?? I’ve said much worse and said it continually for the past 4 yrs….guess only the rich and famous people get secret service treatment….they’re not helping their own credibility at all with this one

    Ted’s prediction is already coming true. The Secret Circus is already after him. Ted did not threaten the president in anyway. He used the first person pronoun I, meaning that something would happen to him, Ted Nugent not Obama.

    I AM TED NUGENT. Come get me. Everyone declare this at once (I’d love to see us all wear a t-shirt with that say like on July 4th) and everyone continue the drumbeat. Obama doesn’t have enough people to take us all on.

    They go after Ted Nugent, they will signal they’re coming after all of us. Obama has to first ‘take out’ the conservative ‘voices’ that have forums to speak for us … Limbaugh, Hannity, Malkin, et al.

    Get ready. Obama don’t need no stinking election.
