Fox News: – Two arrests have been made in the North Tulsa shootings that left three African-American men dead, FOX23 reports.
Cops apprehended two white males — 19-year-old Jake England and Alvin Watts, 32 — at 1:47am local time, KOKI reported.
They will be charged with three counts of murder and two counts of shooting with intent to kill.
A statement from the Tulsa Police Department said, “Within 24 hours of its formation, the task force ‘Operation Random Shooter’ has completed its mission. Our sympathy goes out to the families of the victims and we hope that our efforts can bring some resolution and closure to these heinous acts.”
The victims, all black, were seemingly shot at random as they walked in the street during a seven-hour period early Friday.
The three fatalities were identified as 49-year-old Dannaer Fields, 54-year-old Bobby Clarke and William Allen, 31. The two surviving victims have not been identified.
Detectives initially thought the shootings were the work of a “lone wolf” gunman and the FBI and U.S. Marshals Service were drafted in to the investigation.
Tulsa Police chief Chuck Jordan said cops were able to gain information about the attack from one of the surviving victims.
He said a “very logical theory” pointed to the possibility the shootings were racially motivated hate crimes, but there was “no evidence” to confirm that was the case.
