Excerpted from IJ Review: Public support has come pouring in for George Zimmerman as he prepares for his court case in which he has been charged with second-degree murder for the shooting of Trayvon Martin. Zimmerman’s attorney indicated Thursday that Zimmerman has received over $200,000 dollars from supporters through his website. Zimmerman’s defense attorney, Mark O’Mara, told CNN’s Anderson Cooper, “He asked me what to do with his PayPal accounts, and I asked him what he was talking about. He said those accounts that had the money from the website he had. And there was about $204,000 that had come in to date.” O’Mara remarked earlier this month that he believed Zimmerman and his family had little to no money or assets.
The attorney for Trayvon Martin’s family believes Zimmerman should return to jail, because he neglected to inform a judge in a recent bond hearing about the money. “They tried to portray themselves as indigent that they did not have any money,” said attorney Benjamin Crump, adding, “We think the court should revoke his bond immediately, and he should be held accountable for misleading the court.”
