Excerpted from The Daily Mail: The woman who stood between a self-professed activist’s spray painting attack of an anti-jihad poster in New York City told MailOnline she plans to sue over the encounter.

Speaking exclusively, Pamela Hall said that during her ‘defense of free speech’ her clothing and her equipment was damaged by Mona Eltahawy, 45, an Egyptian-born U.S. activist.

Eltahawy was arrested Tuesday on charges of criminal mischief and making graffiti for spray painting an advertisement equating Muslim radicals with savages inside a subway station.

The incident was captured on video, which shows Eltahawy spraying pink paint on the ad while Mrs Hall tries to block her.

Mrs Hall, president of SIOA (Stop The Islamization of America), filmed the entire altercation.

‘Mona, do you think you have the right to do this?’ Mrs Hall asks in the video. ‘What right do you have to violate free speech?’

She now says that during the altercation much of her personal property was damaged.

‘Not my camera itself….that’s why I held it above my head. It was the support…the mono pod, camera bag,’ she told MailOnline. ‘I was moving around to avoid the spray.’

She and her attorneys are currently mulling over the damage and plan to press charges next week, she said.

Eltahawy, a women’s rights defender and lecturer on the role of social media in the Arab world, refuted Mrs Hall’s claims.

‘According to what police told me, Pam Hall got a bit if spray paint on her pocketbook and back of her jacket. That’s it,’ Eltahawy tweeted earlier today.

During the altercation, she also insisted her spray painting of the sign was not a violent act.

‘This is non-violent protest, see this America,’ Eltahawy said as police officers were arresting her. ‘I’m an Egyptian-American and I refuse hate.’

The dispute arose over an ad posted by Pamela Geller’s organization: the American Freedom Defense Initiative, which was largely responsible for the sounding the alarm over the ‘Ground Zero Mosque.’

The ad states: ‘In any war between the civilized man and the savage, support the civilized man.’ It adds, ‘Support Israel. Defeat Jihad,’ in between two Stars of David.
