PalmBeachPost-The St. Lucie County School District plans to have grief counselors at two elementary schools today after a teacher was stabbed to death in a Palm Beach County home – a crime to which authorities say her son confessed.
Gloria Farajian was a second grade teacher at White City Elementary School for almost eight years and had been teaching art at Parkway Elementary School this year. The school district will have counselors at both schools.
Palm Beach County Sheriff’s officials say Alan Farajian, 23, stabbed his mother to death Wednesday in his suburban North Palm Beach home after an argument over a TV show, according to an arrest report.
Farajian’s parents made six calls from the home at 1800 block of Len Drive to sheriff’s dispatchers in the past year.
Deputies were called to the home again late Tuesday night, but this time it was Alan Farajian, and he was calling to report a murder: he had just stabbed his mother to death.
Farajian said he stopped taking prescribed medication for paranoia, bipolar disorder and schizophrenia, and knew it was wrong that he killed his mother, but he’d do it again.
Farajian told deputies he used a kitchen steak knife to cut his mother’s throat from behind and stabbed her in the throat and chest.
“The suspect showed no remorse and spoke of acts of the devil,” a deputy wrote in a probable cause affidavit.
