MSNBC’s Chuck Todd called the claim by the leaders of Organizing for Action that the group will be “nonpartisan” is “pretty audacious.”

“Folks, they can jump up and down and claim this all they want–and maybe for legal status this is what it is–the fact is, this group is a group that taps the president’s campaign email list to solicit donations,” Todd said. “What is the piece of Republican-initiated legislation they are trying to persuade members to support?”

OFA is currently in the midst of its two-day “Founders Summit” in Washington D.C. President Obama spoke to donors Wednesday evening at the event, which cost $50,000 to attend.

Todd has previously criticized the group for a fundraising scheme that would allow donors who give or rais $500,000 to enjoy quarterly meetings with President Obama. Todd called it the “definition of selling access.”
