Christie has always been a surrender monkey when it comes to Muslims and Mexicans. Big problem.
Excerpted from The Washington Free Beacon: New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie (R.) would not say Sunday whether he had advised GOP presidential candidate Donald Trump to “soften” his immigration stance.
Former New York mayor Rudy Giuliani said Christie had advised Trump to pivot away from his policies of mass deportation of illegal immigrants. Trump seemed to suggest this week there could be a pathway to legal status for illegal immigrants, although his campaign insisted there was no change.
Asked by ABC This Week host Martha Raddatz whether that was true that he was the advisor responsible, Christie would not give a direct answer.
“Well Martha, I ran for president as you know. I ran for governor twice. I’ve been the governor now for nearly seven years, I find that the people who are my best advisers are the people who are smart enough to give me really good advice and smart enough to keep their mouths shut about what advice they give me,” Christie said. “And so if I want advisers that way that’s the kind of adviser I’m going to be of Donald Trump.” Read the whole thing
